My Very Own Twilight Casting (Part I)

Hey sorry everyone! I spent some time in the hamptons with a friend, and I didnt have time to post. I've actually been working on this post for a bit, so I hope you guys like it.

Anyway, I know there was a lot of different ideas about the twilight casting. I'm only concentrating on the part of Edward Cullen. Here are pictures of Robert Pattinson, the actor chosen to play him.

Robert Pattinson:

Okay, okay. I have to admit that he is kinda cute. But I read Twilight before the movie trailers started to come out, and my Edward Cullen looked nothing like this guy! I know there are some hard-core Robert Pattinson fans out there that are going to hunt me down for saying this, but...he really isn't that amazing looking. I mean, he's cute- but I would say a long shot from being as good looking as some of the guys that I posted here. The only scene where he would look "hot" is the scene where he saves Bella from the van (I also have a problem with that casting because of her upturned nose and dull voice, but thats for another time). He also looks "hot" when he's super photoshopped, you know, the ones where his eyes are made a different color and his skin is made super pale. But thats it. Usually his hair looks ridiculous, and his face just has...weird proportions. Which makes him a unique actor, but NOT for a role where the character is supposed to look like perfection in human form. And its not like he's a super experienced actor, unless you think that his role as Cedric in Harry Potter deserves an Oscar. Haha. So I was out to look for an actor that looked like this:

So here are the nominees!

Tom Sturredge: Cuuuuuute. Very cute. And sexy. With those gorgeous eyes and dark hair, I think he would make a wonderful Edward Cullen.

Henry Cavill: A lot of people thought he would make a good Edward Cullen, and I agree.

Hayden Christensen: Nice body, nice face, enough said.

Kevin Flamme: (French model) Very cute- but a face I would easily forget. He also looks a little childish compared to the other nominees. Nontheless, very handsome.

Gaspard Ulliel: (cute, but personally I wouldnt like him as Edward Cullen. Here he is anyway because he is definetly nice eye candy.) However, as you can see in the last picture of him, he is an amazing actor and easily transformable into different characters. Doesnt he look like he could be James?

Okay so you've seen all these beautiful men. Tom Welling, however, is my personal Edward Cullen; meaning, while I was reading these Twilight books, I thought of Tom Welling. You might recognize him from Smallville (superman in younger/teenage form). I mean, I know he's a little older than the other nominees, but he still looks smashingly young! And those eyes are intense, perfect for a vampire. And his body is ah-maz-ing. I can find nothing wrong with this guy; therefore, he is my Edward Cullen. =]

Tom Welling:

So, I know there are plenty of Twilight fans out there. Tell me your opinion! I'm really curious to see what people think of the Twilight casting of Edward Cullen. Again, soryr that I took so long to post this!

Much Love,

Why the Beijing Opening Ceremony Has Annoyed Me

I feel like I'm doing alot of "self- image" and "media distortion" posts, but this caught my attention:

I don't know if any of you guys have heard about the little girl who sang at the opening ceremony of the olympics.

Basically what happened was that the girl with the two pigtails and the red dress that you thought sang that really pretty national anthem was actually lip syncing. Her name is Lin Miaoke.

The voice really belonged to another little girl, that they deemed not "cute enough" to perform. Her name is Yang Peiyi.

Frankly, I think that's disgusting. Honestly- they're 7 and 9 years old! So young! and I can't believe that they picked one little Chinese girl over another. In my opinion, they were both adorable. And the fact that is was a fraud makes the opening ceremony look less touching and more...just a concieted display. I mean if they had put the other girl in a red dress and done her hair and makeup, she would look just as pretty, if not prettier. Its such a shame, that at a young age that little girl is probably already made insecure about her appearance.

And the girl who lip synced? she got credit for singing at first, going to interviews and hailed by a newspaper as a 'rising star'. I'm glad that the musical director set the record straight by revealing that she wasn't actually singing.

Gah! This frustrates me so much! And that whole thing about the fireworks being enhanced as well...gosh, I wish that people stopped tampering with appearances, it just makes the whole ceremony look worse after people find out that its all just a facade.

Here's the picture of the two little girls:

For those who may argue that "well yeah, plenty of people lip sync" and I say- yes, people like Ashlee Simpson and Britney Spears do lip sync, but it is different when the girl in question is 9 years old. This is the Olympics, a more serious event, not some concert. Also, its different lip syncing something you sang earlier than lip syncing someone else's work! And honestly, I think that this situation could have been avoided. I mean, sure her teeth a little crooked but I think the Chinese are taking this "must...give...perfect...image..." thing a little too far. Plus, the real singer looks plenty cute anyway, they should have just kept her and saved themselves the trouble.

So basically, congratulations to Yang Peiyi for singing beautifully at the Olympics- I think she deserved to be at center stage.
